We’ve really missed seeing you; therefore, we are going to do something about it!  On Thursday, May 13th, at noon we are having a get-together here at the church.  It will be in the shady area to the left of the driveway at the end of the parking lot.  We are asking you to bring your own lunch, but we will provide dessert and cold bottled water.  We will need you to bring your own folding chair.  John Finch and his ukulele will be leading us in a sing-along, Eunice Sabo will tell us a spine-chilling South Carolina ghost story, and there will be a nice door prize. This will be an opportunity to get out and visit with folks you probably haven’t seen in a year!  Now, doesn’t that sound like fun?  The restrooms in the main church building will be available.  In case of rain, we will reschedule for the following Tuesday, May 18th.  Please let us know by email or phone if you plan to come so we will know how much to prepare.

The Shepherd’s Center of Columbia is one of about a hundred centers across the country which are affiliated with the Shepherd’s Center of America.

Grounded in the 23rd Psalm, this interfaith organization was founded as a means for older adults to continue to stretch their horizons, be contributing members of society, and help each other. It supplements the work of local congregations, providing opportunities for personal and spiritual growth. The members are the planners and leaders of all programs.

The Shepherd’s Center is open to all persons, but focuses on those who are age 50+. It is intercultural, interfaith, and interracial.

We welcome you to become a part of our schedule of activities. We provide classes on many topics, so we feel you will find something of interest to you. You may visit one time before becoming a member.

We appreciate that Trenholm Road United Methodist Church, 3401 Trenholm Road, Columbia, SC 29204 provides meeting space for our classes.

Class registration cost is $35.00 per session, which allows you to take as many classes as your time will allow. You are welcome to join any class with an available chair. Feel free to change your schedule if you find a class does not suit you.

A weekly newsletter, the Shepherd’s Staff, is published each week class is in session. It contains updates on luncheon speakers, lunch menus, current class updates and other news. Pick up your copy from the lobby upon arrival. Also check the board for last minute changes in scheduling.
