Group Gathering
The Shepherd’s Center of Columbia is an affiliate of Aging Forward. Folks, age 50 and up, gather together for life long learning and community connections.
Here in Columbia, we meet on Wednesdays with morning classes beginning about 9 AM. We then gather for lunch, a nice three-course meal with dessert, and a variety of speakers during that hour.
Class Information
Classes are offered each Wednesday during our 3 yearly nine-week sessions in a variety of topics such as Yoga, Music, Zumba Gold, History, Art, Writing and Tai Chi. A few new classes are offered each session and flagged with an asterisk.

Lunch Information
A 3-course hot lunch plus dessert is available for $12, or you may bring your own lunch. Iced tea and water is provided.
See the LUNCH menu on the our weekly newsletter, “Shepherd’s Staff” for more information.
Also, expect to be entertained during this hour, as there will be various speakers or other presentations.
The Book Nook
Where can you find the best deals in town on practically new books and CD’s of all types? That would be our Book Nook! Be sure to notice the double-door opening midway down the basement hallway. We add new treasures continuously so you will surely find something interesting for just a couple of dollars. We also accept books and CD’s in good condition.

Weather Policy

Inclement weather policy: We follow the weather closures for Richland One school district.
Weather related closures are posted by local media.
The Shepherd’s Staff is our weekly newsletter. It is available on each Wednesday as you enter the building. It provides some specific details on the classes for the current day. Also you can see what is on the lunch menu for the day as well as the following week. The lunch program is also listed.
Invite a Friend!
Almost every new participant at the Shepherd’s Center comes through the recommendation of the program by a friend or neighbor. If you know someone who would enjoy our program, please direct him/her to our website, or let the office staff know the person’s name and address and we will gladly mail him/her a copy of our bulletin.
